What is a Minimum Viable Product?
A Minimum Viable Product (we usually shorten it to just “MVP”) is an initial version of your idea that we build with you to help you answer the basic question: “Is this a viable business?”
Why build an MVP?
Embracing constraints is critical for any business, and doubly so for startups. We’ve found that focusing on the minimally viable core of your idea is just right: it helps us get real as quickly as possible, and eliminates the risk of protracted development without feedback.
What’s an MVP effort look like?
You’ll have a half-time designer and a full-time developer cranking on your project for anywhere from four to eight weeks. Wrapped around that is a project manager who’ll work to make sure the cycle converges on a valuable release. Add some system administration help for going live, and you’ve got the recipe for an amazing launch!
How much does it cost?
While we do the work on a time and materials basis, we understand that everyone has a budget that they need to work within. Thus we use the output of a design first-pass to estimate what it will take to deliver your MVP, and set a budget for MVP launch. We’ll work with you to aggressively prioritize all throughout development, and we’ll let you know each week exactly where we’re at in terms of completed features and remaining time.
